Claire bought a football kit for Sam because he's doing football club at school this term. I'm going back to the shop to complain tomorrow.

It is inevitable. The only person in Sam's family who is remotely interested in football is his uncle Jeremy who is an Arsenal supporter. Sam will follow in his uncle's footsteps and not support a team that needs a Russian billionaire to buy the title for it.

You could probably pick up a Southampton (or even a P*mp*y!) kit for much less money, if it's pennies you're looking to save ;-)

I hope you bought the kit because Sam is a Liverpool supporter and not because you could save a few pounds by buying it. If it was the latter it might be construed as gross cruelty.
