What is your Rich Number?

I was recently reading about Erdos Numbers, which are really just a more intellectual version of the Kevin Bacon thing and it has inspired me to invent the Rich Number.

The market has already been cornered with collaborative maths and film works with the examples above so the Rich Number is going to work slightly differently. I have a Rich Number of zero since I am me. Anyone who has ever shared a car journey with me has a Rich Number of 1. Anyone who has ever shared a car journey with someone with a Rich Number of 1 has a Rich Number of 2 and so on.

I've created a Wikipedia page of it but you'd better view it quickly because it appears to meet the criteria for speedy deletion.

So, what is your Rich Number?

Can you include a bus? If so, I have a Rich Number of 2 having been on the same bus as SimonG from the Oxford P&R during that belated Xbo meet one time.

If not, I'm not sure.

By an amazing coincidence I wrote a blog this morning - based on Erdos numbers - which'll appear over the first weekend that I'm on holiday. I bet you can't wait.

Obviously my Rich number is 1. In fact, I think I should get a discount for having to share a car with Rich so often.

If every person in Uk has shared a car with 20 others (separately!) then nobody should havea Rich Number greater than 6 even taking saturation into account

Surely that's not right ? If people only shared cars with people whose surname began with the same, or the next, letter of the alphabet everyone could have shared a car with 20 others but someone whose surname started with a letter half-way on in the alphabet from Rich's surname would have a Rich number of at least 12 wouldn't they ?
