Tyred Again

Precisely two years minus three days ago I had my MR2 serviced and moaned about the fact that I needed a third set of tyres in just 16k miles.

Well, today I had my 5 year/60k service, though the car has done only 22 thousand miles - that's an incredible average of 3 thousand miles a year for the last two years.  I sometimes wonder whether I live a little too close to work.

Anyway, the upshot was that I needed another set of tyres.  I'm maintaining my 5,000 miles per set of tyres average, and spending more on rubber than on petrol.

Hmmm.... You drive 5,000 miles a year.... I've had my new car since July and have already done 13,000 miles. Perhaps I should live closer to work.
