Drat!


It looks like our house purchase has fallen through due to a number of things that the current owner neglected to tell us about.

That's at least £800 and six months invested so far down the pan. Great.

Swines. Were they so stupid they thought they could get away with not telling you that the house was haunted/subsiding/subject to a compulsory purchase order/on 6 converging ley lines where witches meet every Walpurgis eve/ next door to an abbatoir/located in Brigadoon/already inhabited by 7 dimunitive men with long beards who return each evening with sacks full of diamonds? (Delete as appropriate).

Hunt them down and feel free to hurl abuse at them.

Really sorry to hear that Rich.

When we moved in 2004 we vowed never to buy and sell at the same time ever again. Although our experience was not as protracted as yours seems to have been, we would seriously consider selling, renting, then buying. It may cost a little bit more in rent (but then you can earn interest on your equity in the interim to offset this somewhat), it saves a lot of hassle. Also, selling without a forward chain, and buying without a backward chain makes you more attractive in both roles and you may be able to barter more to your advantage.

Anyway, rotten luck and I hope it all sorts itself out for you eventually.

It never rains, but pours eh? Talking of which - your weather thingy ther says 'drizzle'. Drizzle? My trousers are completly soaked and I was making 7 foot wakes with the car this morning (maybe I should have slowed down, but it was fun!)
