In a moment of artistic enthusiasm this afternoon Claire and I decided to make an entry for Stu's Tuesday Challenge. The challenge was to make an interpretation of the photograph Dali Atomicus by Phillipe Halsman:
We decided to go for the Photoshop-free approach which proved to be highly labour intensive. Here's what we did:
Take photo of virtuoso Sam with violin.
Take photo of original print of "The Gilletts cows, Walpole" (print one of five) by Linda Holmes, 1997, resting on top of Sam's music stand.
Take photo of Elly the cat (age 9 and three quarters) in three different poses.
Take photo of original artwork "March House" by Claire Pereira, 2008
Take photo of a chair from breakfast room.
Take a photo of some water coming out of the end of a hose in the garden.
Print out photos 1-6 in shades of grey except for the water which is blueish.
Carefully cut out all the photos.
Hang them up on pieces of cotton thread. Very very very tedious indeed.
Take photo of completed scene.
And here is our entry, with "The Making Of" beneath (check out the video for weirdness!):
"The Making Of" - click for bigness.
Here we are with indgredients, ready to start building:
