You know when you follow a lorry on the motorway and you start wondering about things, well can anyone in the collective genius of readers of this explain what those round stickers are for on the back of the lorry with numbers in them (e.g. 50).  Some lorries have multiple circles and some don't.  My best guess is that it's something to do with speed limiters but I can't see why they need lots with different numbers in.

There was a parents evening at Sam's school last night at which leaflets were distributed on how literacy is being taught.  Sod's law dictates that there will always be an error in these sorts of leaflets, but you can only hope for one this good.

Claire bought a football kit for Sam because he's doing football club at school this term. I'm going back to the shop to complain tomorrow.

I catch a fish in a pond. I paint a black stripe on its back and put it back. Next day I fish until I catch another fish - and it turns out to be the same one. What's the probability there are two fish in the pond?
