Rich of March House

Since it has been raining non stop for 48 hours now we decided today to do an indoor activity and stay dry so I've no idea how we ended up trudging around an Anglo Saxon burial ground getting drenched.

It was an interesting site though - Sutton Hoo - where an excavation in 1939 uncovered an entire buried Viking longboat with a dead king inside it. It turned out to be the richest burial site in North Europe.

One major plus point was that we spotted the worlds first Dachsheep.

My hosting account is about to run out so I've taken the opportunity to move over here. It's not quite all working yet though.

Windows obviously got upset with me when I posted about it being rubbish the other day. Now we are barely on speaking terms, and today instead of telling me compasionately and sympathetically about an error that it had made it put it bluntly, adding on a cruel and taunting final word. How bitter can an OS be?

Handy tip I have just discovered - when you're in Windows XP and want to do some stuff in a dos box don't invoke the dos box by going Start->Run and typing command.  Instead do it by going Start->Run and typing cmd.  The former seems to invoke a stone-age version of a dos prompt that doesn't like paths with spaces in them so you can't use cd "Program Files" for example.  It also won't let you reselect the last command you typed by pressing the up arrow key.

What better way to round off a day that involved digging a 20 metre long trench for a water pipe and demolishing an old brick-built BBQ than to build your very own stonehenge out of the bricks from the demolished BBQ.
