There was a food market in Whiteley yesterday - just a 1 minute walk from our front door - so I went out early in the morning to see what was on offer on the stalls before all the crowds started.
It was great! I felt like I was Jamie Oliver, walking from stall to stall talking about all the food on display with the stallholders. I ended up buying some courgettes (yes, incredible I know. I don't like courgettes!), leeks, onions and carrots from an organic vegetable stall, some beautiful smoked haddock from a fish stall (now I need to find a decent recipe for it), and some New Forest pork and wild mushroom sausages from a New Forest pig stall.
So today I came over all cookeryish and ended up cooking a full-on Sunday roast (gammon) with roast potatoes, roast parsnips, the carrots and some other stuff. While that was cooking I used the courgettes to make some pickle (click for bigness):

And now I've got some home-made leek and potato soup on the go for tea. I should have been a chef, you know.
